Venus one of the four terrestrial planets along with Mercury, the Earth and Mars, mainly consists of 96.5 % carbon dioxide (CO2) and 3.5% Nitrogen (N).
At first glance, if Earth had a twin, it would be Venus. The two planets are similar in size, mass, composition, and distance from the Sun. But Venus is covered by thick, rapidly spinning clouds that trap surface heat and create a greenhouse-like world with immense temperatures and a pressure as intense as 900 meters deep in Earth's oceans. These clouds reflect sunlight in addition to trapping heat, which makes it usually the brightest planet in the sky.
